Pine Ridge Woman Pleads Guilty to Larceny

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that Ashley Standing Soldier, age 22, of Pine Ridge, appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Veronica L. Duffy on December 15, 2011, and pled guilty to a charge of Larceny. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 1 year of imprisonment and/or a $100,000 fine.
In June 2011, at Pine Ridge, Standing Soldier stole a bank card from another individual and made unauthorized purchases with it. The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Office of Law Enforcement Services. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah B. Collins.
A presentence investigation was ordered, and a sentencing date was set for February 23, 2012. The defendant was released on bond pending sentencing .
